• USERNAME: it can be anything. just make sure once you're accepted to change it to your character's full name. all lowercase & no punctuation.
• ACCOUNTS: one account per character. it gets way too confusing when you try to play multiple characters on one account.
• CANONS: pretty please consider taking a canon. there are a ton of them! but reservations last for one week and if your application by then still isn't done you lose the reservation and someone else can snag it.
• WORD COUNT: 250-300 words minimum. so we expect that on a bad day you are writing that much. i personally always try to write 400-500 words because then whoever i'm RPing with has something to write about. but if you are just starting out and want to get better, this can also be the place for you. and for those who are advanced writers and like those 700+ word posts, you are more than welcomed here.
• APPLYING: LAST NAME, first name middle name. please post the title of your application like that. just makes the lives of the admins easier when everything is in the same order. you get one week to finish it. if it takes you longer than that and one of the admins move it to the denied section, just message us or find us in the c-box and we will move it back. we will read your application thoroughly.
• RATIO: right now we don't have a ratio. but we do have a character limit. 6 characters. if we see that to many females are being made we will put up some sort of ratio
• FACE CLAIMS: has to be a real person. no anime or cartoon characters. and if your character is 16 please don't use someone who is almost 30. yeah, they might be gorgeous but if you really want that PB make an adult.
• GRAPHICS: i beg you, don't stretch the pretty board. don't exceed 500x300 for the signature and the avatar right now is 150x250. if you need help finding pictures the correct size ask an admin or another member. and if you can make graphics, we have a board for that. so anyone is more than welcomed to show off their skills there.
• ACTIVITY: i know everyone has a busy life, i'm a sophomore accounting major and on my college's track&field team. i know that sometimes it feels like there are not enough hours in the day. but i do ask that you log in every other day at least. don't even have to post anything but we will get more members by looking very active. if you are going to be gone more than a week, just post in the absence board. try and put down dates so the admins get an idea on when you will be back but don't feel rushed. and when the time comes for an activity check, those who have a post in the absence board will be safe.
• NO SEX: so sad, right? anyways no MATURE or XXX threads, which i think everyone knows by now. it's a proboard rule and if they catch anyone doing it on the site we get shut down. i don't want that. so no sex. you can hint towards it, since teenagers are always doing it now but just black out the scene once it gets to that time.
• CBOX: want to know a good way to get banned? advertise, spam or disrespect someone in my c-box. so play nice, respect each other's opinion (even if you don't agree with it) and don't use text slang. and if there is a fight, admins will get involve to resolve it. the cbox is a privilege, the site doesn't need it to survive, so if it gets abused, i have no problem taking it down.
• ICBOX: i know some of you who will join will ask about an ICC box. i love these, believe me. they are a great way to do small plots quickly. but most of the time, if not all, members RP less and do major plots in the icbox. so for right now, we don't have one. once the site gets going and i think we can handle one, we may put one up.
• MAJOR EVENTS: mistakes happen and people die. but there can't be that many pregnant witches at hogwarts, right? right. so if you want your character to be pregnant, have a kid, be raped, etc talk with an admin. not that many students get engaged while at school either so talk with the admins about it. arrange marriages are cool and all but not every pureblood family is going to be in an arranged marriage. talk that over with us or write that in your character's app on how it's a family tradition to be an arranged marriage. you want your character killed off? awesome, some drama for the site. talk it over with us and your character could die famous.
• SEERS can tell the future and make prophecies. most of their prophecies are recorded and put into the Hall of Prophecies in the Department of Mysteries. seers do not make prophecies often and it's very rare for their to be a true seer. they do no see the future every day or for every event. so your character will not know the grade they will get on a test or who they will talk to that day. the seer can try and control this ability but it is hard to do so and takes a lot of practice.
• VAMPIRES: this isn't a twilight or TVD role-play forum, if you want one of those, you're at the wrong site. hogwarts isn't known for vampires, hell i can only remember one time that they even mentioned vampires. so the only vampires we are allowing are the ones on the canon list. there aren't many and that's because i don't want the site having more vampires than witches & wizards. and if you take one vampire from the canon list you can't take another. let everyone have a shot at playing a vampire. no changing students or adults into vampires. that is another way the site will be overrun by them. students can bite other students' neck just don't let a professor catch you. HP vampires aren't drop-dead gorgeous. in fact, they're supposed to be horribly terrifying to look at but we'll let you guys pick a playby you like. they don't have superhuman speed, strength or special powers like mind reading. HP vampires can't go out during the day or they will burn to death. they are considered a part of the living-dead and as evil beings.
• WEREWOLVES: again this isn't twilight or TVD but werewolves were mention more often in the HP world than vampires were. and werewolves are not nice creatures. student werewolves need to take the wolfsbane potion every full moon but adult werewolves can do whatever the hell they want. they are no different than humans when in human form. no heightened senses or anything. be careful with packs, because when they're in werewolf form, they tend to fight and destroy each other unless it's male/female. the wizarding world is also afraid of werewolves so your character might not want to be telling everyone about his or her's condition. students can't bite other students but if an adult wants to change someone, talk it over with us. most likely we will agree. HP werewolves only change into their werewolf form during the full moon. have no super-human strength or speed. are not boiling hot. they do age. none of that imprinting stuff. basically when you think hp werewolves, think of lupin, ok?
• HAVE FUN: yeah i know sappy way to end the rules. but this is the reason why most of us join a site is to have fun and make some awesome online friends. so get to know one another, plot with everyone and spread the love.
