"You obviously are misunderstanding me." He said, with a scowl. Could she not wrap her mind around this idea? Was she so daft, so far gone in this charade of hers... "What are you paying off, exactly? Your name, your family. Who are you working for?" Did he really care? He looked away and ran a hand over his face. Giving up on the conversation. She was irritating him, and he was through with these ideas. Her life, her business. He had no role, nor did he even want to hear her name again once he got out of school. He was absolutely not positive about it. He was obviously being clear, how could anyone not understand him? How was this girl his competition? He ran a hand through his hair, obviously perturbed by her insolence. The mention that he probably scared hufflepuffs, made him want to laugh but, of course, he didn't. He raised an eyebrow, "I scare a great many of people." He said with confidence. Perhaps that was one of his problems. But He knew Rose could hold her own, so she didn't go running, but first years didn't mess with Scorpius, everyone knew of him and his ... not so great reputation about being a "kind hearted soul." He was the opposite on all accounts. "Perhaps they're finally wising up." He muttered, musing slightly, it was true though. People feared him, it was good...but somewhat unsettling.

He couldn't deny the chemistry that was in this particular case. In fact, it shocked him, something that was very rare. He found himself captured by her very scent and when she kissed him back, it was rather intriguing. How could she kiss better than those he kissed that had experience? But she was good, great. It wasn't like Scorpius was surprised that she was kissing back, but he was curious. She never liked him, made it blatantly obvious that his hobbies when it came to girls was something of a disgrace, also how many things about him were wrong. This would just be a one-time thing, he knew it going into the kiss, but by the end of it, he wanted her back in his arms, nearly immediately. This affect irritated him, and once again he found himself pushing away, being cold, retreating from her fire. But he could tell he went a bit too far when her smile fell. He swallowed and was about to speak again when her hand came firmly across his face.

Scorpius was taken completely off guard. But managed to catch her wrist after the fact, swallowing the sting on his cheek. His eyes snapped to her and pulled her close. "Excuse you," He spoke sternly, but... it was almost as though he wanted to laugh, he attempted hiding this. Biting back somewhat of a grin at her fire, he couldn't help but let a small- amused smile cross his face. He was pissed at her, but he was impressed. Nobody had this kind of courage. "What kind of response were you looking for?" Asks upon sobering, still not releasing her arm. "That was a kiss." he spoke slowly, teasing her breaking once more his somber expression. He had to be careful around this girl. She was weaseling her way in, and he had no time for that. He was an asshole, but he found it an uncomfortable word coming from Rose. She seemed to usually see past that, but not anymore. Perhaps that was a good thing. She needed to.. distance herself from him, especially after a kiss like that. He wet his bottom lip and sighed, releasing her arm. "I thought you knew I was an asshole, you act so surprised." he spoke, simply- slipping back into character.
