Gabriella does not let just anyone near and it is hard to become one of her friends. It pays off in the end though, because when you have Gabriella's trust, she is very loyal to you and will never let you down (at least not on purpose). Otherwise, when she is making friends, Gabriella is not picky. They can be magical or muggle, from any house, year or purity of blood.
Enemies. It is hard to imagine that such a sweet and quiet girl has any. Yet she does, but mostly not because of her own doing. Many pureblood purists who know that Gabriella is a halfblood have made her a target throughout the years at Hogwarts. Then there is her Chinese side of family, the Lis, who hate that their daughter, Gabriella's mother, married an Englishman and not the Chinese wizard they picked out for her. Then there are those, who in any way messed with her hair, either through a prank or failed potion-making. They get an automatic place on Gabriella's crap list.
This Ravenclaw girl is as pure as they come, if you do not count a kiss or two, or some hand holding. It isn't because she is being a prude or anything, but because of Gabriella's trust issues. Which is why either boys simply don't approach her or she shots them down from a start. However, Gabriella's secretly longs for someone to love her, but she doesn't want to get hurt, in case she lets someone near and it results in a break up.
